Researchers at the Centre for Appearance Research have developed support materials for adults with appearance-affecting conditions, focussed specifically on intimacy and romantic relationships.
They are now looking for individuals with an appearance-affecting condition, such as burn injuries or scarring, to review and provide feedback on these support materials. This will involve listening to/reading some pilot versions of the support materials and responding to a short feedback survey to let them know what was good and what could be improved.
If you had have a burn injury, are over 18 years old, have a good understanding of spoken/written English, and are currently or have been based in the UK they’d love to hear from you!
Anyone who completes the survey will be given the opportunity to win a £50 Amazon voucher, as a thank you for their time.
Participate in PhD research conducted by Kieran Moulton at the University of the West of England, Bristol is looking at how people use decorative tattooing to either camouflage or decorate their scars.
Kieran is looking to interview people to find out their reasons for using tattooing in this way and what their experiences were.
Using tattooing with scars has become increasingly popular in recent years and the purpose of this research is to add to current knowledge.
